Philadelphia, Pa. - Freshman
Justin Figueroa drained a career-high 20 points in Wednesday's annual visit to Jefferson University where Georgian Court University eventually fell to the host-Rams, 76-55, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball action.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. native shot 5-of-13 from the floor, complemented by an 8-for-13 effort from the charity stripe. Figueroa also shared the wealth as the freshman dished a team-best eight assists in the effort.
Will Osborn connected on a trio of three-pointers for his nine points while
Kristian Alexander controlled nine rebounds on the night.
Jefferson's
Josh Bradanese (Jr.-Billerica, Mass.) paced the victors, matching Figueroa with 20 points of his own.
Alexander Gorton (So.-Jonesboro, Ark.) followed with 19 points while
DeVaughn Mallory (Jr.-Smyrna, Del.) (18 points, 10 rebounds) and
Kylan Guerra (Jr.-White Plains, N.Y.) (13 points, 12 assists) each authored double-doubles in the win.
The Rams improve to 11-6 (6-2 CACC) with the victory while the Lions fall to 2-14 (1-6 CACC).
GCU returns to action this Saturday with a CACC interdivisional showdown at Concordia College (2:00 p.m.)
