Bronxville, N.Y.- Four Lions netted double-digit scoring performances, and
Kim Speller authored the first double-double effort of his collegiate career, in Georgian Court University's eventual 67-56 CACC setback at Concordia College Saturday afternoon.
The Lions (2-15, 1-7 CACC) led by seven (17-10) at the 12:22 mark of the first half before the Clippers (6-11, 3-4 CACC) sailed on a 16-6 run to enter the half up by 10 (33-23). Concordia would eventually go ahead by a game-high margin of 15 on two separate occasions in the second stanza.
GCU's leading scorer,
Caleb Bowser, returned to the floor after missing the Lions' previous two contests and picked up right where he left off in topping the Lions with 17 points (and six assists) on the day.
Bryce Council followed with 15 points of his own, which included a pair of three-pointers, while dishing four helpers.
Speller cleared the glass of a game-best 15 rebounds, to go along with his 12 points, en route to the double-double.
Matt Ringel netted 11 points and grabbed eight boards in his 25 minutes of action.
GCU returns home Tuesday evening to host Holy Family University at 8pm in CACC men's basketball action.
