Lakewood, N.J. - Taking to the home hardwood for the first time since December 1, Georgian Court University welcomed Wilmington University to the Wellness Center for a special weekday matinee Wednesday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) divisional men's basketball action.
Despite a game-best 30 points from
Caleb Bowser, the Lions could not tame the Wildcats as the visitors secured an 89-77 victory. The Wilmington shooters sizzled in the first half, nailing 60% of its efforts from the floor (18-for-30) and 7-for-11 (64%) from beyond the three-point line en route to a 44-36 lead at intermission.
WU led the entire way in the second stanza, not allowing the Lions to close the gap any closer than four points (51-47). The Wildcats took advantage of Georgian Court's 20 miscues, netting 31 points off the mishaps.
Thomas Farrior (Sr.-Willingboro, N.J.) drained a team-high 28 points in the win for Wilmington, connecting on 13 of 22 attempts from the floor.
Jermaine Head (RJr.-Edgewood, Md.) fell just one rebound short of a double-double with 25 points and nine total boards.
Jordan Harding (Fr.-Bear, Del.) eclipsed the double-digit mark with 11 points for the 'Cats.
Bowser collected his first double-double of the season, adding 12 rebounds to his sensational showing.
Matt Ringel deposited 13 points on the day for the Lions while
Kristian Alexander dropped in 12 points in his first home appearance of the year.
The Lions take to the road Saturday with a visit to Caldwell University (3:00 p.m.) in CACC competition.
