4-1 Defeat of Chestnut Hill Provides Georgian Court Third-Straight Triumph

Plymouth Meeting, Pa. - Georgian Court University, with its 7pm start time, provided a prime-time performance as the Lions bested host-Chestnut Hill College, 4-1, to earn a third-straight victory Tuesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action.

GCU improves to 7-4-1 overall and now sits in second-place in the conference standings at 5-1-1. The Griffins, losers of nine straight, end the evening at 2-10 (0-7 CACC).

Aliya Canfield opened the Lions' scoring at 7:05 when the freshman knocked in a Dana Fontana cross for her fifth goal of the year. Canfield and Erin Wimmer provided the one-two punch on Krystal Hund's team-leading seventh goal of the season at 28:18, putting the road team ahead by a pair.

Kieran Lees gifted the victors their third tally of the first half when the first-year forward handled a Jane Paschen helper at 35:13. The scoring effort marked Lees' second in as many games and third overall on the season.

Entering the second stanza with a 3-1 advantage, Wimmer put the game out of reach as the junior netted a Michaela Paradiso aider at 63:15 to give her a goal in three-straight contests (and five overall).
