Lakewood, N.J. - The Georgian Court tandem of
Tommaso Rio and
Nick Moran teamed up on both of the Lions' tallies as visiting Molloy College doubled up the home team, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon in NCAA Division II men's soccer action.
Molloy's
Paul Morales (Sr.-Jackson Heights, N.Y.) put the visitors ahead, 1-0, with his goal at 10:42.
Anthony Cestaro (Sr.-Massapequa, N.Y.) and
Oscar Magnusson (Jr.-Halmtsad, Sweden) then netted efforts just 31 seconds apart to increase the Molloy cushion to 3-0 at 32:03.
The Lions finally cracked the scoring column at 42:32 when Rio headed home a perfect cross from Moran to cut the deficit to 3-1. The duo duplicated the exact play at 50:26 to inch GCU to within one.
Unfortunately, Georgian Court's comeback attempt would come to a close when Molloy's
Angelo Bordenca (Sr.-Flushing, N.Y.) put the road team back up by two with 13:00 left to play.
Georgian Court looks to rebound this Saturday when the Lions host Concordia College at 2:30 p.m. in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference competition.
