Lakewood, N.J. - Despite being out-shot by a margin of 29-6 (13-2 on frame), Concordia College made the most of its opportunities Saturday as the visiting Clippers escaped Georgian Court University with a clutch 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road win.
Georgian Court attacked first when
Nicholas Moran set the table forÂ
Tommaso Rio's team-leading sixth goal of the season at 22:58. It would the third time this week that the GCU tandem would team up for a tally. The Lions' lead would hold until right before intermission when Concordia's
Nemanja Zivanovic (Jr.-Belgrade, Serbia) knotted the score at 1-1 with just 19 seconds remaining in the half (44:41).
It would be Zivanovic's day as the Clippers' top-scorer poured in his second of the match (11th of season) at 61:51 to pull of the comeback victory.
Concordia keeper,
Mikael Varin (Toulouse, France), dazzled in the Clippers' net as the freshman secured 11 key saves for the victors.Â
Georgian Court returns to the pitch Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. with a conference contest at Holy Family University.
