Philadelphia, Pa.- Georgian Court University extended its season-high winning streak to seven straight Tuesday as the Lions took to the road and doubled up host-Holy Family University, 2-1, for the always-crucial conference victory in CACC women's soccer action.
Krystal Hund, a selectee to the the latest CACC Weekly Honor Roll, collected her team-best 13th goal of the year at 10:41 when
Dana Fontana and
Kaitlin Lister provided the sophomore scorer a hockey-style helper for the 1-0 lead. The Tigers proceeded to tie the tilt at 36:31 with an unassisted tally from
Kait Findlay (So.-Philadelphia, Pa.).
With the score knotted at 1-1,
Aliya Canfield snapped the stalemate just 2:09 into the second stanza as the freshman finished another Lister assist for her seventh goal of the season, clinching the "W" in the process.
Shots were at a premium on this afternoon as each team was able to get off only eight apiece. The Lions owned a slight 8-6 edge on frame.
Alyssa Dias went the distance in frame for the Lions as the freshman secured five saves to improve to 5-4-1 in net. The Tigers drop to 7-8 (7-3 CACC) with the setback.
The Lions (11-4-1, 8-1-1 CACC) now prepare to close out the home portion of the 2019 regular-season slate with a 12:00 p.m. conference contest this Saturday vs. Bloomfield College (1-13-1, 0-8-1 CACC)
