Caldwell, N.J.- For the first time since October 26, 2016, the Georgian Court University women's soccer squad found itself on the losing end of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular-season match as the Lions dropped a 1-0 decision Saturday at Caldwell University.
The defeat halts GCU's remarkable run of 26-0-2, with their last conference setback coming against Holy Family University (1-0) just under three years ago.
Caldwell's lone tally came in the 55th-minute (54:56) when freshmanÂ
Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) booted in a deflection, providing the Cougars (4-2-1, 3-0-1 CACC) the only tally they would need.
Jamie-Lee Bamford (So.- Braintree, UK) collected four saves in the shutout win for Caldwell.
Alyssa Dias (90:00) registered a pair of saves for Georgian Court. Despite the result, the Lions still out-shot the Cougars, 12-9, including a 4-3 advantage on frame.
GCU (4-4-1, 2-1-1 CACC) looks to rebound this Wednesday afternoon when the Lions host Goldey-Beacom College (3:00 p.m.) on Investors Bank Field.
