Lakewood, N.J.- Georgian Court University moved to 20 games over the .500 mark Wednesday evening as the Lions breezed past visiting Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball action.
The first-place Lions were never in despair as they coasted to straight-set victories of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-13. With the win, GCU improves to 26-6 on the year (15-3 CACC). The Lightning slide to 5-22 overall (2-16 CACC).
Amy Bruno drilled 11 of her 13 attack attempts for kills without a blemish as the senior registered a hitting percentage of .846 in the triumph. The Barnegat, N.J. native now leads the entire CACC with an overall hitting average of .383.
Aubrey Binkley clubbed nine kills of her own to go along with seven digs.
Jaime Sweeney put together a double-double effort consisting of 20 assists and 10 digs in the match while
Ashley Pierson dished 11 helpers.
Emily McCurley settled 17 digs on the night as the senior ranks fifth in the conference with 469 on the year.
GCU closes out the regular season Saturday with a home match vs. Dominican College at noon. The Chargers come in with one last chance to earn their first win of the season (0-24, 0-18 CACC).
