Philadelphia, Pa. - Two days after seeing its nine-game winning streak snapped in a loss to Holy Family University, Georgian Court University returned to its winning ways Thursday night with a convincing 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph at The University of the Sciences.
The Lions, who fell to the Devils in their last meeting on Oct. 10, redeemed themselves on this night in straight sets (25-15, 26-24, 25-19). GCU boosts its overall record to 24-6 (13-3 CACC) while USciences falls below the .500 mark at 8-9 in conference play (11-16 overall).
After a rare off-night,
Kinsy Haschke returned to her dominant ways as the sophomore smashed a match-best 13 kills in the win.
Ashley Pierson and
Jaime Sweeney dished 13 and 10 assists, respectively, while
Aubrey Binkley dropped in five service aces.
Emily McCurley controlled a game-high 15 digs for the Lions.
GCU returns to the hardwood Saturday afternoon with a 1:00 p.m. visit to Felician University. The Golden Falcons (14-15, 12-4 CACC) currently sit in first-place in the CACC North Division.
