Rutherford, N.J. - In a battle of first-place programs, it would be Georgian Court University that would rise above as the Lions grounded the Golden Falcons of Felician University, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-20), Saturday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action.
With the win, GCU improves to 25-6 (14-3 CACC). Each of the Lions' last 10 victories have been of the shutout variety as Georgian Court currently sits alone atop the South Division standings. Felician, leaders of the North Division, fall to 14-16 (12-5 CACC) with the defeat.
Kinsy Haschke closed the week in mighty fashion as the sophomore smashed a match-best 17 kills in the win.
Aubrey Binkley floored eight of her own while
Grace Fenn compiled seven kills and five blocks.
Jaime Sweeney and
Ashley Pierson controlled the offense with 20 and 18 assists, respectively.
Emily McCurley recorded her eighth effort of 20+ digs as the senior settled 22 in Saturday's showing.
The Lions now return home to host Goldey-Beacom College Wednesday evening (6:00 p.m.) in CACC divisional action.
