Newark, Del. - Georgian Court University closed out the two-day Wilmington University Wildcat Regional Invite Saturday as the Lions saw their four-game winning streak snapped with non-conference losses to Franklin Pierce University and Adelphi University. 

In the opening contest, GCU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over FPU with a 25-22 set one win. The Ravens then proceeded to rip off three unanswered successful sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-6) to upend the Lions, 3-1.

Despite the result, Georgian Court's Kinsy Haschke authored a double-double for the Lions with 16 kills and 15 digs. Shana Rayside added 10 kills in the contest while Emily McCurley and Ashley Binkley controlled 25 and 15 digs, respectfully. Jaime Sweeney paced the team with her 21 assists.

In the nightcap, Adelphi scored triumphs in the first two sets vs. the Lions (25-10, 25-21) before GCU snagged a 25-20 win in set three. Unfortunately for Georgian Court, the Panthers matched the aforementioned 25-20 total in set four to secure the win and send home the Lions with a 2-2 record over the two-day event.

Rayside enjoyed a stellar showing in the nightcap as the senior smashed 13 kills and totaled seven blocks in the effort. Hachske, who earned selection to the invitational's all-tournament team, ended the day with 10 more kills. Ashley Pierson distributed a team-best 20 kills, followed by Sweeney with 16 helpers. McCurley topped the club with her 13 digs.

Georgian Court (5-3) now looks forward to opening CACC conference action Wednesday evening when the Lions hit the road to take on the reigning CACC champs, Holy Family University, at 6:00 p.m.
