Pleasantville, N.Y. -
Kaitlin Lister found the back of the net for the fourth time in just two contests, while
Anissia Fucci and
Erin Wimmer each registered their first goals of the year, as Georgian Court University rebounded nicely from a difficult opening night setback with a 3-0 Sunday shutout of the University of New Haven (hosted by Pace University).
Lister, who accounted for all three of GCU's scoring efforts in a 6-3 loss to Pace University Friday, again found the back of the net by banging home a
Krystal Hund helper, putting the Lions ahead, 1-0, just 4:19 into the match.
Permitting someone else to experience the goal-scoring glory, Lister proceeded to provide the aider on Wimmer's first of the year, giving the royal and gold a 2-0 surplus in the 21st minute (20:16). Fucci waited until the second half to club in one of the unassisted variety at 50:28, sealing Georgian Court's first "W" of the young season (1-1).
Alyssa Dias dazzled in the Lions' net as the freshman earned her first collegiate victory and shutout with six saves over 90:00.Â
GCU now returns to campus where the team will open its home slate with non-conference tilts vs. Molloy College (Saturday) and Le Moyne College (Sunday).
