Georgian Court Unable to Hold Onto Halftime Lead as Wilmington Rallies to Top Lions, 76-66

Newark, Del. - Trailing by six (35-29) at the half, Wilmington rallied for 47 second-stanza points to overcome visiting Georgian Court University, 76-66, Wednesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball divisional action.

Down by seven after a Jelani Jackson layup put Georgian Court ahead 41-34 at the 13:12 mark of the second half, The Wildcats (4-10, 2-3 CACC) exploded for a torrid 31-7 run to take an insurmountable lead of 65-48 with 5:42 remaining in regulation.

Wilmington's Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md.) topped all players with his 32 points on the night, netting 10-of 19 from the floor with four three-pointers and a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. The redshirt senior also garnered team-highs with six assists and three steals.

Caleb Bowser drained a season-best 28 in the Lions' loss as the GCU senior hit 9-of-19 from the field with a 10-for-12 performance at the free-throw line. Kim Speller enjoyed a double-double effort consisting of 14 points and a team-high 14 boards while Justin Figueroa garnered 10 points for GCU.

Reigning CACC Co-Player of the Week, Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor, grabbed 10 rebounds (including nine of the defensive variety).
