Sweet 16! Women's Volleyball Secures Sixteenth Win of Season With 3-0 Conference Win Over Felician in Homecoming Day Tri-Match

Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University recorded its fourth-straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory Saturday morning as the Lions opened a Homecoming Day tri-match with a 3-0, straight-set win over Felician University. In a high-scoring affair, GCU outlasted the Golden Falcons by scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 27-25.

Kinsy Haschke led the charge for the Lions as the senior paced the victors with 13 kills and 16 digs in the match. Trilby Kite also collected a double-double in the win with 17 helpers and 14 digs, while flooring three kills on four total attempts. Ava Venneri and Jessica Sprankle contributed 13 and 12 digs, respectively, while Faith Bennett distributed 12 assists.

Amirah Woods floored three solos and took part on a trio of blocking assists while Nahomie Alejandro Negron recorded six blocking assists and launched four service aces.

In the nightcap vs. American International College, after falling to Georgian Court in the first set, 25-20, the Yellow Jackets (16-6) swarmed the Lions the rest of the way, taking the next three frames (25-17, 25-16, 25-21) to secure the always-important east region triumph.

Haschke submitted her second double-double on the day (11th of season) with 14 kills and 10 digs while Nylene Mateo returned to the Georgian Court lineup with 14 kills of her own. Kite (21 assists) and Bennett (19 assists) set the stage for the GCU offense while Sprankle settled a match-high 19 digs.

Georgian Court (16-6) takes to the road Tuesday evening as the Lions visit Goldey-Beacom College at 7:00 p.m. GCU blanked the Lightning, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-19), in the previous meeting between the two programs back on Sept. 21 in the Wellness Center.
