Lakewood, N.J. - Erin Wimmer sent Saturday's Homecoming Day crowd into a frenzy as the senior's goal in the 87th-minute of action (86:29) clinched a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over visiting Caldwell University. 

The much-needed win for Georgian Court University (4-8, 3-4 CACC) marks only the second win of the year on home turf for the Lions (9/22 vs. Staten Island). The Cougars (4-6, 3-5 CACC) suffer their third-straight setback.

The game-winner (assisted by Krystal Hund) represents the first goal of the season for the Sayreville, N.J. native. Despite the outcome, Caldwell dominated the shots column, 14-4, including an 8-1 advantage on frame. GCU net-minder, Alyssa Dias, corralled eight saves in the complete-game shutout performance.

Georgian Court earns the opportunity to savor the sweet taste of victory for the next week as the Lions do not return to action again until next Saturday, Oct. 23 with a visit to Post University (12:00 p.m.).
