Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University dropped its third match out of the last four outings (all five-setters) as the Lions suffered another crucial Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) defeat Saturday afternoon, this time at Dominican College.
With the host-Chargers holding a three-sets-to-one lead, the Lions showed some mettle as the visitors knotted the score at 2-all with a convincing 25-16 win in the fourth frame. Dominican proceeded to open the deciding fifth set with a commanding 7-0 surplus. With the Chargers on the cusp of victory at 14-7, GCU rattled off a desperate three points to climb to within four, but the comeback would cease right there.
DC (3-10, 1-4 CACC), which snaps a nine-game losing streak (dating back to 2012) vs. Georgian Court with the victory, collects its first conference triumph of the season. The Lions slip to the .500 mark in CACC action at 3-3 (12-4 overall).

Grace Fenn paced the Georgian Court offense with nine kills apiece, followed by
Kinsy Haschke with eight on the day.
Trilby Kite and
Faith Bennett, once again, shared the setting duties as they collected 19 and 12 assists, respectively.
