Waterbury, Conn. - #21 Georgian Court University's season-opening unbeaten streak came to an end at 12-straight Saturday as the Lions suffered a 4-1 setback at Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference clash.
After taken an initial 1-0 lead, courtesy of
Landry Cheta's second score of the season (37:08), the Eagles responded with four unanswered tallies in the second stanza to soar to victory. Post climbs above the .500 mark with the win at 6-5-1 (6-2 CACC). The Lions, stopped one game short of the program's unbeaten record of 13-straight (Oct. 11, 2016 to Sept. 9, 2017), falls to 9-1-3 (6-1-1 CACC).
Things do not get easier for GCU as the royal-and-gold now prepares to visit #14 Wilmington University this Wednesday (3:30 p.m.) in a highly-anticipated CACC contest.
