New Single-Season Scoring King as Silva Sets Program High-Water Mark With Two More Tallies Saturday vs. Nyack

Lakewood, N.J. - The Georgian Court University men's soccer program has a new single-season scoring leader in its annals as Louis Silva, with his two tallies in Saturday's 3-2, double overtime setback to Nyack College, recorded goal #17 and #18 to tie and pass Michael Clarke's previous mark, set in 2015.

Silva put the Lions ahead twice in the contest, netting the game's first score at 14:03 and snapping a 1-1 stalemate at 74:02 to give the home team a brief 2-1 advantage. Lucas Fiuza's equalizer would stun Georgian Court with 42 seconds remaining in regulation (89:18) to force overtime. After a scoreless first OT session, Matteo Guerrini's diving header off a Javier Plaza set piece in the second overtime period completed the improbable Nyack comeback at 104:53. The Warriors move to 9-8 (6-4 CACC) with the win.

Silva, perhaps the most feared player in the nation at this time, currently leads all of NCAA Division II with his 18 goals and 45 points. The Union, N.J. native's point total, as well as his nine assists on the year, are also new team single-season records.

Georgian Court (10-2-3, 7-2-1 CACC), still in the hunt for the top-seed in the upcoming CACC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament, closes out the conference slate Tuesday with a 3:00 p.m. home match vs. Holy Family University.
