Lakewood, N.J. - After losing three of four matches a week ago, Georgian Court University collected its second-consecutive 3-0 triumph of the current seven-day stretch as the Lions bested Bloomfield College at home Saturday in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action.
The Lions breezed past the Bears in straight-set fashion with wins of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-23 to improve to 14-5 overall (5-3 CACC). Bloomfield, which entered the day as the top team in the CACC north division, slips to 6-4 (5-2 CACC).
Nylene Mateo and
Kinsy Haschke paced the GCU offense with nine and eight kills, respectively. Haschke also topped the lineup with four service aces.
Trilby Kite dished a team-best 19 assists, followed by
Faith Bennett with 15 helpers on the day.
Jessica Sprankle supplied a match-high 10 digs for the Lions.
Georgian Court remains at home to host Chestnut Hill College Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in a CACC divisional contest. The Lions recorded a 3-1 road win over the Griffins back on Sept. 15.
