Bronxville, N.Y. - A late-minute goal (87:23) from
Niccoy Morris (Jr.-Westmoreland, Jamaica) snapped a 1-1 stalemate as Concordia College secured a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) home win Sunday afternoon vs. Georgian Court University.
The victory keeps the Clippers' record unblemished at 3-0 (3-0 CACC) while the Lions, losers of two-straight, slip to 1-2.Â
Sunday's contest played out in exactly the same matter as GCU's previous outing (Wednesday), a 2-1 vs. Nyack College The two foes played a scoreless first half before Concordia's
Dennis Limani (Sr.-Hamburg, Germany) broke the tie with a score at 50:50. The Lions countered just under 20 minutes later (70:38) when
Sam Thombs connected on a
Louis Silva helper for his first goal sporting the royal-and-gold.
The stage was now set for Morris' game-winner, almost duplicating the exact time Nyack pocketed its go-ahead goal on Wednesday (87:46).Â
Concordia owned an 18-11 shots-on-goal advantage, but the Lions led with attempts on frame at 6-4.
Jamie Hickey gathered a pair of saves in a complete-game performance in net for Georgian Court.
Mikael Varin (Sr.-Toulouse, France) earned the goalkeeping win off the bench for Concordia, recording four denials in 52:38.
