Salem, W. Va. - United Soccer Coaches Division II Player of the Week,
Louis Silva, netted a pair of goals, and
Gianluca Cersosimo recorded his second-consecutive shutout, as Georgian Court University, in its first confrontation with Salem University, blanked the host-Tigers, 3-0, in Sunday's non-conference contest.
Silva, who came into the match with three goals on the season, provided the Lions their first two tallies of the game with efforts at 30:32 and 55:16 (penalty kick).
Noah Hamouda closed out the scoring with his first collegiate goal at 70:48. GCU dominated the shots column, 25-3, with a 14-1 surplus on frame.
Cersosimo required only one save on the day to earn the shutout and improve to 2-0-1 on the season.
Georgian Court (2-0-1) remains idle until Tuesday, September 21 when the Lions visit regional foe, Mercy College, at 3:30 p.m.
