Kutztown, Pa. - Georgian Court University's program-record winning streak to start a season ended at nine-straight as the Lions lost a 3-0 decision to Kutztown University in a Friday night tri-match hosted by the Golden Bears. GCU opened the event with a 3-0 win of its own vs. Salem University.
Playing Salem for the second time since Sept, 4, Georgian Court blanked the Tigers once again with straight-set triumphs of 25-13, 25-22, and 25-12. 
Kinsy Haschke collected her team-best fourth double-double of the year with 12 kills and 11 digs in the effort. 
Nylene Mateo fell one dig short (nine total) of her own double-double performance with 10 kills. 
Trilby Kite and 
Faith Bennett shared the setting duties as the duo recorded 18 and 13 helpers, respectively. 
Jessica Sprankle was a menace at the serve as the junior floored five aces in the shutout.
In the nightcap, Kutztown swept past the Lions with scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-17. Mateo achieved her second double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs. Kite and Bennett distributed 16 and 11 helpers apiece while Sprankle patrolled the back line with 14 digs.
Grace Fenn controlled the net with a team-high four blocks. 
Georgian Court (9-1) now returns to conference play this Tuesday evening with a 6:00 p.m. home match vs. Goldey-Beacom College.
