Georgian Court Falls Just Short in Colossal Five-Set Divisional Contest vs. Holy Family

Lakewood, N.J. - In one of the most epic regular-season contests one will ever witness, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) divisional rivals, Georgian Court University and Holy Family University, clashed through five sensational sets Saturday night as the visiting Tigers escaped the Wellness Center with a 3-2 victory.

In a rematch of the last two CACC Championship Tournament title games, first-place Holy Family took the match by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 21-25, and 15-13 to remain perfect in conference play at 3-0 (8-2 overall). The tough-luck Lions experience their first CACC setback (11-2, 3-1 CACC).

Kinsy Haschke collected her second double-double of the week for Georgian Court, flooring 10 kills to go along with 11 digs. Faith Bennett also authored her own double-double performance with 16 assists and 10 digs. Trilby Kite paced the Lions' offense with her team-best 20 helpers.

Chelsea Ross contributed nine kills in a match for the third time this season and a .571 hitting percentage, while registering seven block assists in the marathon match. Grace Fenn also smashed nine kills while Jessica Sprankle led all players with 26 digs (a new career-best).

The Tigers were still able to claw their way to victory despite 19 service errors in the match (nine for Georgian Court).

After a much-needed two-day rest, Georgian Court returns to divisional play Tuesday evening when the Lions host Wilmington University at 7:00 p.m.
