Lakewood, N.J. -
Mathias Madersbacher netted the game-winner, and
Louis Silva registered a pair of tallies, as Georgian Court University coasted to a comfortable 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win Wednesday afternoon over visiting Jefferson.
The Lions remain undefeated on the season at 4-0-2 (1-0-1 CACC) while the Rams slide to 1-4-1 (0-3-1 CACC).
Madersbacher recorded his second scoring effort of the season in the ninth minute (8:30) when the sophomore gathered an angled feed off the boot of
Francisco Corral and blasted a close-range straight to the middle right of the Jefferson net . Massaging a 1-0 surplus, Silva added to the GCU cushion at 20:32 as the senior danced with a
Jack Guiton dish, scooted around an attacking Rams' keeper, and netted his seventh goal on the year.
Silva, who sits amongst the nation's Division II scoring leaders, added #8 in the 32nd-minute (31:49) as he sizzled home his third successful penalty kick, increasing GCU's insurmountable surplus to 3-0.
Gianluca Cersosimo was sensational in the Georgian Court net as the junior authored his third shutout of the year with four saves in the complete-game performance.
GCU next takes to the road Saturday evening with an 8:15 p.m. CACC visit to Felician University in Lyndhurst, N.J.
