Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University men's basketball opened its season-long, three-game home stand on a sour note Saturday as the Lions suffered a 78-63 defeat at the hands of visiting Nyack College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) inter-divisional action.
The Warriors (7-6, 5-2 CACC) never trailed in the triumph, developing a game-high, 18-point surplus (71-53) with 3:55 remaining in regulation. GCU, losers of eight-straight showings, fall to 2-14 on the year (1-7 CACC).
Isayas Aris (Sr.-Chicago, Ill.) fired off a fantastic double-double performance for the victors with game-highs of 28 points and 11 rebounds over 31 minutes.
Jordan Rodriguez (Sr/-Orlando, Fla.) followed with 14 points in his 34 minutes of action.
Clint Wright, Jr. continues to be a shining star for the royal-and-blue as the sophomore sent in four three-pointers for a team-best 16 points in 34 minutes.
Shane Williams cleared the glass of 10 rebounds while recording a trio of rejections on the defensive end.
Olisa Ngonadi, making his Georgian Court debut, netted 11 points and grabbed seven boards in 20 minutes off the Lions' bench.
Georgian Court returns to play this Monday at 6:00 p.m. when the Lions host Wilmington University in a CACC divisional contest.
