Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Late-Minute Surge Pushes Georgian Court Past USciences, 66-57, in Quality Comeback Win for Lions

Philadelphia, Pa. - Trailing by a bucket at intermission, and mired in a six-point setback (48-42) with 10:44 remaining in regulation, Georgian Court University men's basketball fired off a sensational 24-9 surge in a race to the final horn as the Lions secured a signature 66-57 road victory over the University of Sciences Tuesday night in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball action.

The divisional win snaps GCU's two-game slide and puts the royal-and-gold at 3-9 in CACC play (4-16 overall). The Devils dip to 2-14 (2-8 CACC) in what is the program's final season.

Olisa Ngonadi, a member of the latest CACC Weekly honor roll, continues to run the floor for the Lions as the junior transfer recorded his second double-double performance with 23 points and a dominant 17 rebounds on the night. "O" hit 9-of-15 shooting from the field while also swatting three blocks and dishing four assists in the victory.

Clint Wright, Jr. continues to be Georgian Court's most consistent player this season as the sophomore sank 15 points for yet another double-digit scoring effort.

Omar Salvi (Fr.-Germantown, Md.) highlighted the USciences box score with 20 points and nine boards while Tommy Gardler (So.-Broomall, Pa.) hit for 11 points of his own in the loss.

Georgian Court returns to the City of Brotherly Love Thursday evening for a visit to Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. The divisional showdown serves as a make-up for a contest originally scheduled for Jan. 5.
