Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse Places Third in 2022 CACC Preseason Coaches Poll

New Haven, Conn. - Georgian Court University has been tabbed for third in the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Monday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Lions earned 33 points in the voting, which was conducted by the league's seven head coaches in the sport.

The Lions, after posting a 7-4 regular-season mark in 2021, claimed the #3 seed in the CACC Championship Tournament. GCU, winners of back-to-back conference crowns (2018-19), succumbed to #2-seed Wilmington University, 12-11, in the semifinals of last year's tourney.

Chestnut Hill College, the CACC's defending champions, received 40 overall points and four first-place notches.Wilmington, the 2021 CACC runner-up, was tabbed second in the 2022 preseason poll with 38 points and a trio of first-place nods.

Georgian Court University kicks off the seventh season in program history on Saturday, Feb. 19 with a non-conference home game vs. #19 Bentley University. Start time is slated for 12:00 p.m.
