Louisville, Ky. - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced Monday that Georgian Court University's
Daniel Burnham and
Billy Germana have been selected as Scholar All-Americans for their academic prowess in the classroom. As a collective whole, the GCU men's lacrosse squad earned Division II Team All-Academic honors with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.03.
A three-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team selection, Burnham owns a 3.93 grade-point average as a business administration major. The Islip Terrace, N.Y. native compiled 36 goals (6th in CACC) and 27 assists (3rd) for a total of 63 points (5th) on the year.
Burnham found the back of the net in all but two of GCU's 17 outings this season, 12 of which were multi-goal efforts. He also contributed a season-high eight points (five goals, three assists) in a 19-15 home win vs. Molloy College back on March 9. A USILA All-Region Honorable Mention and All-CACC First Team selection, Daniel received additional recognition with a roster spot at last month's USILA DI/DII Senior All-Star game (sponsored by Dynamic) in Providence, R.I.
Germana, a fellow USILA All-Region Honorable Mention and All-CACC First Team pick, compiled a 3.51 GPA as a senior business administration major. The short-stick defensive midfielder recorded 20 ground balls and six caused turnovers during his 16 appearances.
The native of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. also secured a goal and three assists on the offensive end, including a tally and a helper in a 22-5 rout of Dominican College (NY), clinching the Lions the #3 seed in the CACC Championship Tournament this past spring.
