SECAUCUS, NJ (Sept. 10, 2022) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer played to a 90 minute draw in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener with Alliance (formerly Nyack College). Neither team was able to find the back of the net as the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
How it Happened
• Alliance held the advantage in shots and shots on goal. They got off 10 shots to the Lions seven and put seven shots on goal while the Lions forced Alliance to make just two saves.
• GCU played a clean game committing only four fouls to Alliance's 10.Â
• Alliance also held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
• The first shot in the game didn't come until nearly the 10-minute mark. That was by Alliance but
Alyssa Dias was up to the task and made the stop.
• Of Alliance's 10 shots, just two came in the opening half. The other was in the 36th minute, forcing Dias to make another save.
• Georgian Court outshot Alliance 4-2 in the first. They had a chance near the end of the half, ripping off back-to-back attempts in the 38th minute by
Emily Clayton and
Jordyn Nelson. Clayton however missed left and Nelson had her shot stopped by the Alliance netminder.
• The second half started with another GCU shot that missed high in the 48th minute. After that, Alliance applied plenty of pressure.Â
• In the middle of the half, they got off seven shots in a 14 minute span. Dias though came up big making four saves.
• With the match in the closing seconds, Alliance had a corner kick in the final 30 seconds, but couldn't get a shot off and the match ended in a tie.

• This is the Lions second draw this season. The NCAA is no longer playing overtime in regular season matches.
