NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 30, 2023) - Following a 2-0 week, Georgian Court Women's Basketball sophomore Jariah Patterson took home this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week Award. It's the first such award for Patterson and second for the Lions this season.

Patterson helped Georgian Court go 2-0 on the week with wins at Holy Family and at home against Bridgeport. Patterson started both games and led the Lions scoring 17.5 points per game. She shot 42% from the floor and hit 4-9 from three. Patterson also helped out with nine total rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.

In the win against Holy Family, Patterson played 37 minutes and scored 12 points in the 68-53 win. Patterson then set a career-high scoring 23 in the 77-59 win over Bridgeport Saturday. She was 9-20 overall, 4-7 from downtown and grabbed five rebounds, two steals and blocked two shots.

This is Patterson's first CACC Player of the Week Honor. The Lions' Erika Aspajo took home the weekly honor back in November. 

Georgian Court has won five of six and sit just a half game out of a playoff spot in the CACC South Division. GCU plays at home Saturday, Feb. 4 against Dominican as the Lions celebrate Girls and Women in Sports Day.
