Vincent Burkhart was a busy this week. The netminder helped the Lions to a 1-1 record as he came up with plenty of big saves.
In two games during the week, Burkhart totaled 49 saves with a .636 save percentage. He opened the week against the number six team in the country, Mercy. He stopped 25 shots and kept the Lions close until late in the game. Burkhart then picked up the first win of his career Saturday against The College of Saint Rose. He made another 24 stops with a .706 save percentage. Guarding a one-goal lead in the fourth, Burkhart made four saves without allowing a goal in the final 6:29. On the Golden Knights final possession he made his 24th save of the afternoon with just 16 seconds left to play to preserve the Lions win.
In the CACC, Burkhart has more than twice as many saves as any other goalkeeper this season with 64. With 21.33 saves per game, Burkhart is currently second in Division II.

Daniel Burnham made the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. He scored five goals and totaled seven points with four ground balls for GCU last week.
He and the Lions finish up a four-game home stand this week. They play against Adelphi Wednesday, March 1 and the District of Columbia, Saturday, March 4.
