LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 26, 2023) - Georgian Court Softball used a pair of big innings in each game of a doubleheader sweep of Molloy. GCU took game one 8-5 on the backs of two three-run innings and then walked off a winner in game two, 7-6, after putting up another three runs in the final inning. The sweep moves Georgian Court to 16-10 on the season.
Game Two - Georgian Court 7, Molloy 6
How it Happened
• Both teams knocked double-digit hits with Georgian Court totaling 12 and Molloy 10.
• Of Georgian Court's 12 hits, six were for extra bases with five doubles and a triple. All of Molloy's three extra-base hits left the ballpark.
• After an error-filled game one, Georgian Court settled down in the field and made just one, but it did lead to three unearned runs.
• Both teams left six runners on base.

Maddie Rabe threw a pair of scoreless innings to start the game and GCU gave her some support starting in the second.
• Georgian Court led off the inning with back-to-back doubles from
Kaitlyn Stufft and
Savannah Simons.
Jayda Jones ripped a single and that scored Stufft with the games first run.

Jordan Mendolla popped GCU's third double of the inning to bring in a pair of runs and she came in to score the fourth run of the inning on a
Taylor Lipkins infield single.
• The score stayed 4-0 until the fourth. Molloy's Alex Burns led off the frame with a deep home run to center.
• Molloy repeated that with another leadoff home run this time in the sixth from Emily McGurk. Rabe seemed to settle down and got the next two out, but then the next seven batters all reached base for Molloy. When the dust settled they had scored five runs in the frame and took a 6-4 lead.
• GCU went scoreless in the sixth and were down to their final at bat still trailing by two.
Adriana Mungo led off the inning with a four-pitch walk.
Alyssa Herrera's shallow line drive got past a diving Steph Conrade in center field and rolled all the way to the roll. Mungo scored and Herrera was standing on third with a triple.
• One batter later Stufft tied the game with a sacrifice fly to score Herrera but the bases were again empty.
• With two outs and nobody on,
Jayda Jones ripped a double to left and GCU was immediately threatening again. After a long turn at bat,
Brittany Gables ground ball found a hole between short and third and Jones cruised in with the game-winning run.
Georgian Court Stat Leaders

Savannah Simons finished 3-4 with a run scored and a pair of doubles.

Jordan Mendolla drove in two runs going 2-3 with a double.

Alyssa Herrera and
Kaitlyn Stufft each had a hit, run scored and an RBI.

Brittany Gable's one hit was a big one, the walk-off single in the seventh.
•
Maddie Rabe got the start and lasted 5.2 innings allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Janelle Blaszka got the win throwing 1.1 scoreless innings in relief.
For Molloy
• Emily McGurk finished 2-3 with a home run.
• Amanda King homered and drove in a pair on a 2-4 afternoon.
• Karsyn Eaton had a pair of hits.
• Alex Burns homered for her only hit of the day.
• Brianna Macias started and lasted 2.2 innings giving up four runs.
• Natalie Moussa threw the final four innings and surrendered three runs on six hits.
Game 1 - Georgian Court 8, Molloy 5
How it Happened
• Georgian Court had runners on base all game long in the first half of the twinbill. They knocked 11 hits and drew three walks and were hit by three pitches.
• The defense though let GCU down a bit as they committed seven errors leading to three unearned runs.
• Despite the eight runs, GCU still left nine on base while Molloy stranded four runners.
• GCU started the scoring with a run in the first.
Kaitlyn Stufft drove home
Taylor Lipkins with a sacrifice fly to right.
• Molloy got two back in the second, both unearned runs after three GCU errors in the inning.
• Georgian Court answered right away though with a three-run bottom of the inning.
Jordan Mendolla drove home
Jayda Jones from first with a long double to right center. One batter later,
Jadalynn Rodriguez hit a three-bagger as Mendolla gave GCU the lead back. Lipkins plated Rodriguez with a ground ball to put GCU up 4-2.
• One inning later, it was another three-run frame for GCU. Three straight reached base starting with a
Savannah Simons double.
Brittany Gable drove her in with a single through the left side.
• With two outs, Mungo capped the inning with a two-RBI single up the middle as Gable and Jones each scored for a 7-2 GCU lead.
• Mungo picked up her third RBI of the game in the fifth with a single to center as
Taylor Lipkins came in to score.
• Molloy picked up runs in the fifth and sixth innings but were never a threat to Georgian Court's lead.
Georgian Court Stat Leaders

Adriana Mungo reached base four times with two hits and two hit-by-pitches. She drove in three runs.

Jayda Jones went 2-3 and scored twice.
•
Taylor Lipkins was 2-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Janelle Blaszka threw the final 5.2 innings to earn the win. She allowed three runs, two earned with four strikeouts.
For Molloy
• Natalie Moussa homered and finished 2-3 with a pair of runs scored. She also threw the final four innings allowing just a run on four hits with four strikeouts.
• Steph Conrade was 2-3 with a run and an RBI double.
• Kamryn Eaton finished 2-4 with an RBI.
