LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 4, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse wrapped up their home stand with a dominating 22-4 win Saturday afternoon. The Lions scored the first 12 goals, seven in the first period on their way to a 22-4 win over the University of the District of Columbia.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court saw plenty of time on offense. They fired 58 total shots with 41 on target and 22 goals. UDC got off 28 shots, 13 on target with four going in.
• UDC won 20-of-30 face-offs but lost the ball on 34 turnovers and six failed clearances.Â
• With the extra attacker, Georgian Court was 2-3 and didn't allow any man-up opportunities.
• The Lions had a field day on the ground grabbing 61 ground balls to the Firebirds 37.
• UDC goalkeeper Najee Harris was up to task early, stopped the Lions first three shots.
Tallen Smith finally broke through with a goal at 11:21 in the first.Â
• Britt Bridges followed Smith by scoring back-to-back goals.

• Georgian Court put five more on the board to start the second. Bridges added two more while Sanford scored on the man-advantage.
• Julian Schemm kept the Lions from pitching a first-half shutout, but after 30 minutes it was 12-1 GCU.
• The Lions scored five in both the third and fourth periods, with another man-up goal coming from
Vincent Giunta to get to the 22-4 final.

• Carnell Lofton, Jr. won 20-of-30 face-offs and picked up 14 ground balls.

• Georgian Court saw 17 hit the back of the net while 19 Lions earned a point.Â
• The 22 goals the Lions scored are their most since scoring 22 in last season's regular season finale. They last scored more than 22 April 13, 2019 when they hung 26 on Felician.Â
