BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (April 22, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse tied a program record picking up their seventh straight win, 21-8 over Bridgeport. The Lions are 6-0 in the CACC with just one game left and move to 10-5 overall.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court was on offense all afternoon helped out by winning 22-of-33 face-off, including 10-12 in the first quarter.
• The Lions totaled 47 shots, 38 on net while the Purple Knights put up 27 shots with 17 on goal.
• Bridgeport lost the ball 25 times to the Lions 17. GCU was also 19-24 on clears. Bridgeport was successful on 15-21.
• Neither team found success with the man advantage, each going 0-6.
First Half
• Georgian Court got off to a fast start scoring the first four goals.
Brett Bridges collected three in less than seven minutes of action to record a hat trick.
• Bridgeport responded scoring the next three making it a one-goal game late in the first.
• GCU finished the quarter by again scoring four, two more from Bridges and two from
James Sanford.
• The Lions took an eight-goal lead, 11-3, early in the second as
Vincent Burns,
Daniel Burnham and
Joe Zerr all scored.
• That was again followed by three straight from the Purple Knights.

Vincent Giunta tallied one late in the half and the Lions were up 12-6 at the break.
Second Half
• The defense sharpened in the second half allowing just two goals, one in each period.
• GCU opened the half with five straight scores, two each from Guinta and
Michael Ventresca and another from Bridges for a 17-6 lead.
• The Lions finished the game getting goals from
Ryan Rigby,
Doug Mackenzie,
Logan Dennison and another from
Joe Zerr as they cruised to a 21-8 win.

• Vincent Guinta totaled seven points with four assists and three goals.

• Aj Surian grabbed three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
• Peter Nazario made 17 saves in goal.
