GARDEN CITY, NY (Oct. 10, 2024) - Georgian Court Volleyball stepped out of CACC play this week as they went to the Empire State for a match at Northeast-10 foe, Adelphi. The Lions got the early edge with a win in set one, but the Panthers came back to take the final three sets in a 3-1 win. The loss puts Georgian Court at 7-7 this season.
How it Happened
• The Lions had a lot of success early, but eventually hit just .150 for the match while Adelphi was at .206.

• Tied at 17, Adelphi took a two-point lead, 19-17.
• Georgian Court responded with a 5-2 lead to go back on top, 22-21 with a

Set 2
• The second set was again close throughout and a back-and-forth affair.
•
Martina Croce gave GCU a brief lead, 17-16, but Adelphi went on a 7-2 run to take control of the frame.
• They scored nine of the final 13 points and tied the game with a 25-21 set two win.
Set 3
• The Panthers kept up that momentum in set three. They started the frame with five of the first six points.
• Georgian Court tried to creep back in, getting to within two a number of times.
• Adelphi never gave the lead up and after GCU's last gasp getting the lead to 23-21, a kill and a service ace ended set three just like set two, 25-21.
Set 4
• Georgian Court scored the first three points in set four as they looked to tie the match at two games apiece.
