LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 16, 2024) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer played another ECC opponent this week with a same results as last week. Another 0-0 draw for the Lions, this time against Molloy, as their record now pushes to 8-3-2 overall.
How it Happened
• Shots favored Molloy, 16-11, but Georgian Court had the more dangerous scoring opportunities.
• The Lion offense were able to earn more corner kicks, 5-2.
• Foul numbers were even at 10 apiece and Molloy was issued the only yellow card of the match.
• Early on it was Molloy with some extended offensive pressure.
Emma Bennett made a sprawling save to keep the game level at zero.
• In the middle of the half, GCU had a couple of excellent scoring chances, started by
Chelsea Lavezzo.
• She sent a cross right on the foot of Seanna Bowen, just outside the goalmouth. Her one-time shot though sailed high and over the open net.
• Later on it was Savannah Johnson who nearly got the first tally. Another pass from Lavezzo hit her clean, but she was unable to finish.
• The second half was more of the same with the defenses not allowing much room.
• Georgian Court's defense especially frustrated Molloy and most of their shots came from considerable distance.
• Molloy's best chance came in the 63rd minute. Jana Strait's attempt hit the crossbar though and stayed out.
• With less than two minutes remaining, Lavezzo got a clean look from the top of the box. She let it rip and her rising shot just sailed over the bar and out of play.
• Georgian Court directed the ball towards the Molloy goal in the closing seconds and while there was contact around the end line, there was no foul called and time ran out on the 0-0 game.

News and Notes
• This is the Lions second straight 0-0 tie. The last time that happened was back in 2022. That's the only other time in the NCAA Georgian Court has played to consecutive 0-0 draws. They've never played to three straight.
• Molloy remains unbeaten against GCU in Lakewood. They improve to 5-1-4 all-time and 4-0-1 playing in New Jersey.

• This was the Lions final nonconference game of the regular season. They finished 3-2-2 outside of CACC action.
