Previously vs. St. Thomas Aquinas
• These two teams met last season for the first time since 2016.
• A last second goal proved to be the difference and it went by the way of the Spartans.
• Cherif Tammar and Cole Sullivan each scored for GCU.
• With the game tied at two, STAC got a goal with just 47 seconds left to play to escape with the win in Sparkill.
• Fabio Krissler played just 45 minutes and made eight saves in goal. 

Last Time Out
• The Lions season got underway last weekend in the great state of Vermont.
• Georgian Court suffered a 1-0 defeat at Saint Michael's in their season opener.
• Gijs van Eif scored twice, but another late goal allowed Bentley to pull even in a 2-2 draw. 

Individual Milestones
• Sotirios Gkosdis is three saves away from reaching 100 and becoming the fifth Lion to ever do that.
• Mikey Mallon needs two points to reach 10 in his career.
• With 24 more minutes played Sebastian Derflinger will surpassed 3,000 in his career. 

CACC Leaders
• Gijs van Eif is third in the CACC in both goals and points per game through two games.
• With his nine saves against Bentley, Sotirios Gkosdis is second in the league and third nationally in saves per game.
• His fellow netminder, Ayendi Batista, is fourth in the CACC in goals against average. 
• The duo combined to have the second most saves per game in the CACC and the third-best save percentage at .824.
• The Lions are getting to the corner a lot. With six corner kicks per game, GCU ranks second in the conference. 

Scheduling Quirks
• Georgian Court starts 2024 on the road for seven of their first nine games. They are currently in the midst of a brief two game homestand Wednesday and Monday, their final home game until Oct. 5. 
• They then play home in six of the final nine including a span playing six of seven at home.
• GCU will also have the luxury of welcoming the top teams in the CACC to Lakewood as the Lions host each of the top-four teams in the poll

About St. Thomas Aquinas
• The Spartans started the season with a 3-2 win over fellow CACC foe Goldey-Beacom.
• All three goals came from Kevon Evans, including the game-winner with less than two minutes to play.
• Evans was an All-Region selection last year after scoring 12 goals with eight assists.
• In the ECC preseason poll, St. Thomas Aquinas was picked to finish third after gong 10-2-5 overall and 7-0-1 in the ECC.
• The Spartans are under the direction of a new head coach, Edison Sanchez Aviles, who was previously coaching at Seton Hall.
