NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 14, 2025) - For the second time this season, Georgian Court Volleyball freshman
Ava Churnesky picks up the CACC Rookie of the Week Award.
Churnesky helped Georgian Court to a 1-1 week, earning a win over Holy Family. She totaled 25 kills, hitting .212. She chipped in defensively as well with 10 digs and three blocks. She was nearly perfect on service reception, successfully handling 42-of-43 attempts.
In a four-set win over Holy Family, Churnesky hit .233 with 12 kills. Although the Lions fell to CACC North Division leaders Post, Churnesky scored 13 kills and really shined on serve reception, passing all 31 serves that came her way.Â
This is Churnesky's second CACC Rookie of the Week honor. She earned one nearly a month ago, in the second week of September.
Georgian Court plays at Jefferson Wednesday, Oct. 15. They then come home for a match Saturday, Oct. 18 against Caldwell.Â
