NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 22, 2025) - The CACC announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday at noon. Ahead of the upcoming season, Georgian Court came in 9th in the poll.
The CACC Preseason Poll was voted on by the league's head coaches. Teams are not allowed to vote for themselves.
Georgian Court received 26 points in the poll. Holy Family sits atop the poll with 96 points. They received seven first-place votes. Jefferson is second, ahead of Caldwell, Dominican, and Chestnut Hill in the top five.
The CACC features 11 teams for the 2025-26 season as Bloomfield transitioned out of NCAA Division II. New this season, the league has done away with the North and South Division format. Standings will be listed 1-11, with the top eight teams making the CACC Tournament. Also new, teams will face all opponents twice, once at home and once on the road, during the regular season.
The Lions return much of their 2024–25 roster, including their top four scorers from last season.
Imani Gillette returns for the Lions, who averaged 9.9 points last season. Also returning for the Lions is
Tyra Lovelock, who started every game last season
. Niyell McCargo, Maria Stanescu, and
Karissa Smedley are all key pieces returning. The team will also benefit from the addition of
Amyah Bray, a transfer from Caldwell, who started in all but three games during the 2023–24 season at Caldwell.
Coach Perazic enters her 12th year at Georgian Court University in the 2025-26 season. She is the winningest and the longest-tenured Georgian Court Women's Basketball Coach in the NCAA-era.
The season gets started officially on November 15 with GCU taking on Bentley University. They do not play their first home game until December 6th. Their first game of the CACC schedule starts December 3 at Holy Family.
