LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 25, 2025) - Playing for the final time at home on the weekend this season, Georgian Court Men's Soccer took the opportunity to recognize their outgoing senior class of 2025. Once the senior pregame festivities were over, the senior in-game festivities could commence. Seniors
Ayendi Batista, a shutout win, and
Mikey Mallon, two goals scored, led Georgian Court to a 3-0 victory over Dominican. The win moves Georgian Court to 3-4 in the CACC this season.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court was on offense most of the match, maintaining possession for more than 50% of game play.
• GCU led in total shots, 15-11, and shots on goal, 5-4.
• Dominican from the beginning tried to slow the game down, defensively. There were six total corner kicks and two offsides called.
• The Chargers were whistled for 19 common fouls and booked six times. GCU was issued one yellow card and called for 14 fouls.
1st Half
• It was a quiet first half for both sides. The best chance came early when
Jack Pollintine-Smith was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who cut off the angle and made a sliding saves in the ninth minute.
• There were only two shots on goal the rest of the half, both from Dominican.
• Neither were high-percentage chances and
Ayendi Batista was there to make the saves.
2nd Half
• Things really picked up in half number two.Â
• Again it started with Pollintine-Smith getting a good look early in the half. This time he pushed it wide though.
• Dominican was playing in the offensive zone more in the second half, but couldn't generate much on net. They took four shots in the first 22 minutes, three off target.
• The intensity also began to pick up as the game was past 60 minutes without a goal.
• A shot by
Felix Kramper was blocked out beyond the goal line giving Georgian Court a corner kick. From the corner kick, the ball found
Mikey Mallon at the top of the box. He went right to left and kept the ball low, miraculously avoiding any limbs inside the box, and scored the game's first goal with just over 20 minutes left to play.
• Less than five minutes later, Georgian Court scored their second. Jelte van Hesteren carried the ball in and to the right of the goal. He pushed a pass inside the box to a wide open
Anthony Ryan who buried a one-touch shot with his left foot into the top-right corner for a 2-0 Lion lead.
• Trailing by a pair, Dominican still couldn't generate anything more than off-target shots.
• With 5:30 left to play, Mallon put the game away. He took a free kick just a stride in front of the center dot and lofted the ball over the Dominican goalkeeper who was egregiously out high, perfectly underneath the cross bar and in the net for his second of the game, giving GCU a 3-0 win.
