NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 27, 2025) - Georgian Court Volleyball junior
Carmen Rivera had an historic week last week and capped it off today as the CACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Rivera averaged 5.25 digs per set leading, GCU in a pair of games. She capped it off with 25 digs at Dominican, her most in a four-set match this season. Rivera also added 10 assists, five in each game.
In Georgian Court's game at Wilmington, Rivera picked up her 1,000th career dig. She became the sixth Lion in the NCAA-era to reach that milestone, and the first since 2018.Â
This is Rivera's first CACC Defensive Player of the Week award this season and the second of her career.Â
Georgian Court is in action tonight at St. Thomas Aquinas for their final nonconference game of the season. They're back at home Wednesday, Oct. 29 against Chestnut Hill and Saturday, Nov. 1 against Felician.Â
