Lions Rally From Down 12 For Third Straight Win

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Nov. 22, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball pulled off another comeback win Saturday afternoon. A week after coming back from down 11 against Saint Michael's, the Lions did it again, this time rallying from down 12 points in the second half to stun Kutztown, 69-66. It's the Lions third win in a row and sets them off to a 3-1 start to the season.

How it Happened
• Aside from a brief lead in the first half, the Lions trailed for much of the game until the closing minutes. They spent just 2:02 in front while Kutztown led for 34:53 of game time.
• It was not a shooting clinic, especially in the first half. Helped out by going 12-23 in the second, the Lions shot 40.4% for the game. Kutztown struggled at just 29.9% from the floor.
• The team's went a combined 9-38 from three. Kutztown hit 5-18 and the Lions 4-20. There were just two made three-pointers in the second half.
• There were plenty of points scored at the foul line. Georgian Court hit 23-26 for 88.5%. Kutztown shot well from the line too, sinking 21-27.
• Georgian Court turned the ball over 11 times leading to nine Kutztown points. The Lions did better capitalizing on the Golden Bears turnovers. They committed eight but the Lions scored 11 points.
• Kutztown's rebounding helped keep them in the game. They led 43-36 on the glass and that included 21 offensive boards and 17 second-chance points.
• The Lions defense shined around the rim where they blocked 10 shots.

1st Half
• The Lions offense was tame for the first few minutes of the game. Kutztown scored the first six points and the Lions didn't get on the board until the 16:10 mark.
• Kutztown held the lead when off the bench Taheen Braswell-Brown made his presence felt. He checked in and quickly brought the Lions back into the game hitting a pair of three-pointers to make it a one-point game.
• Defense turned to offense for the Lions when Jacob Santiago's blocked shot led to Cam Edmonds knocking in two free throws for the Lions first lead, 16-15, with 9:15 left in the half.
• That lead didn't last long though as the Golden Bears rattled off seven unanswered points, going back up, 22-16.
• Trailing by eight, Braswell-Brown hit his third triple of the half, but the Lions went scoreless the final 2:28.
• Kutztown tacked on four more points, including a transition dunk from Omari Banks in the closing minute, and led by nine, 34-25 at the break.

2nd Half
• The Golden Bears lead was hovering around that nine-point margin for the early going in the second half.
• Anthony Rivera and Jaycen Santucci brought it down to five, 41-36, five minutes into the period.
• Kutztown used another 7-0 run and took their largest lead of the game, 48-36 with 12:26 left to play.
• That's when things turned around for GCU. In the final 12:05, Georgian Court outscored the Golden Bears 33-18. Kutztown was just 4-14 overall with five turnovers during that stretch.
• The Lions did work at the foul line, hitting 17-20 as they mounted their comeback. Jaycen Santucci scored 14 and the Lions were 8-15 from the floor.
• It was Santucci who got the ball rolling with a jumper and a pair of free throws to cut the lead to single-digits.
• Kutztown still maintained a two-possession led until Santucci buried a turnaround jumper, bringing GCU to within three, 57-54, with 5:48 to play.
• Donavin Crawford pulled down a critical offense rebound and finished with a layup getting the Lions back to within one as the clock ticked below five minutes.
• Kutztown was still clinging to a one-score lead until Santucci evened things up at 61 from the foul line with 2:25 left.
• Another critical offensive rebound and put back, this time from Amar Lane, gave the Lions a 63-61 lead, their first lead since 16-15, with 1:17 remaining.
• With 21 seconds left, Cam Edmonds made it a four point game going 2-2 at the foul line, but the Golden Bears got a three-point play to stay alive.
• Edmonds would hit one-of-two and the Golden Bears had nine seconds left to tie or take the lead. Jalen Bryant drove hard towards the basket, but ended up stepping out of bounds with two seconds left to give the ball back to GCU and seal the win.
