PLEASANTVILLE, NY (Dec. 16, 2025) - Georgian Court trailed by as many as 12 in the first half, cut the lead down to one in the second, but couldn't get over the hump in a 79-71 loss at Pace. The Lions were on the road against a regional rival but dropped their third straight for the first time this season and fall to 5-6 on the year.
How it Happened
• It was another game full of fouls and free throws. The 2 hour 33 minute game featured 59 fouls and 94 total free throws. Four players fouled out and seven more were called for four fouls.
• Neither team had a good day from the three-point line. The Lions were just 1-11 while Pace was 4-12. Neither team hit a three in the second half.
• Georgian Court attempted more free throws than field goals. They were 16-39 overall, shooting 41%. Pace was at 36.7% for the night, hitting 22-of-60.
• Along with the fouls, GCU had trouble possessing the ball. They committed 18 turnovers leading to 23 Pace points. The Lions scored 17 off of just 11 Pace giveaways, eight coming in the second half.
1st Half
• Pace was red hot to start the game, hitting 4-of-5 from the floor and taking an early 12-3 lead. An
Amar Lane three-point play were the Lions only points in the first five minutes
• Trailing by 12, 22-10, Georgian Court started their comeback. The Lions got a layup from
Anthony Rivera, two free-throws from
Jaycen Santucci and a four-point play from
Cam Edmonds for a 9-0 run as the Setter lead was cut to just three.
• The game stayed a 1-2 possession game for much of the rest of the half.
• Over the final 4:32 of the half, Pace outscored the Lions by four and doubled their four-point lead out to eight at the break.
• One game after attempting 47 free throws, and setting a program record to free throw makes and attempts, GCU was 18-24 at the line in a first half that featured a combined 39 free throws and 26 fouls called.
• Pace did an outstanding job holding onto the ball, committing just three turnovers in 20 minutes.
2nd Half
• The way the first half ended carried over into the second, especially the foul calls. There were eight called in the first four minutes.
• GCU started 4-4 at the line and 2-3 overall, cutting the lead down to four, 43-39.
• Pace was struggling from the floor, hitting one of their first five in the half, but were uncharacteristically shooting well at the line, going 4-5.
• Down seven, GCU scored five straight, getting the lead down to two, 48-46, with less than 12 minutes left to play.
• Georgian Court brought the lead down to one on a couple of occasions, but Pace used a 10-0 run to extend their lead back to 11, 65-54, with 6:44 left.
• A Setters flagrant foul put Edmonds on the line where he hit a pair of free throws and seconds later a jumper to make it a five-point game, 72-67, with two minutes left.

Anthony Rivera made it a one-possession game, 72-69, with 1:39 left following a steal and a foul to send him to the line.
• Pace held their own at the foul line over the final 90 seconds making 7-9 while GCU was just 1-5 from the floor as time expired.

Jaycen Santucci scored 13 points going 3-5 from the floor and 7-10 at the line with a team-best nine rebounds.

Cam Edmonds scored 25 points, making 14-of-15 from the stripe and 5-8 from the floor.

Anthony Rivera was 4-7 overall for 13 points with eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Amar Lane was in double-figures scoring 12, hitting 8-10 from the free throw line with three rebounds, two blocks, two assists and two steals.
For the Setters
• Jabari Nurse scored 20 points with four rebounds and three steals.
• Paxton Davidson added nine points with four rebounds and a team-best five assists.
• Ben Manuel came off the bench to score 14 points.
• Jaden Kealey had a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double.

Amar Lane set a career-high in points with 12.
• Already the program leader,
Cam Edmonds made his 400th career free throw.
• One game after setting a program record for free throws made and attempted, the Lions did it again. They were 38-for-48 at the line, setting program records for both makes and attempts.
• Because of the frequency of fouls being called, both teams weren't attempting much from distance. The Lions threw up some in the final minute chasing points, but only took two the rest of the half.
• Georgian Court's one make and 11 three-point attempts are both the lowest of the
Dave Fedor era. The last time they had fewer makes and attempts from three came in the 2023-24 season.
• The Lions fall to 0-6 all-time against Pace. It was their first meeting since the 2019-20 season.
