Lions Win CACC Opener on the Road at Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, PA (Dec. 3, 2025) - The conference season is finally here for Georgian Court Men's Basketball. They opened CACC action on the road at Holy Family. The Lions took care of business to start league play 1-0 with an 85-70 win. GCU took the lead midway through the first half and led the rest of the way to go back over .500 at 4-3.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court made more three-pointers than they had all season. They shot 43% overall and hit nine triples in the win.
• Holy Family had a tough time sinking shots, shooting 36.7% overall and 27.3% from behind the arc, going 6-22.
• Free throw shooting made a big difference. The Lions were 26-32 for 81.3%. HFU was just 20-29 for 69%.
• Georgian Court forced 22 HFU turnovers, more than 10 more they average per game. The turned that into 32 points.
• The Lions were outrebounded 42-37 and outrebounded on the offensive end, 17-11. But it was the Lions who led 15-11 in second-chance points.

1st Half
• The teams were going back-and-forth at the outset as neither team held more than a two-point lead for the first seven-plus minutes.
• Jaycen Santucci started the scoring with a three and Donald-James Imo put away a dunk for the Lions first two field goals.
• After a Santucci pull-up tied the game at 10, GCU went nearly two minutes without a basket. Holy Family couldn't take advantage though, scoring just one free throw for an 11-10 lead.
• Imo broke the scoring drought with a layup and the Lions were off and running after that. His basket was the start of a 16-2 GCU run that saw the Lions go out in front, 26-13.
• Donavin Crawford hit a pair of three-pointers and the Lions forced three HFU turnovers in under five minutes.
• The Tigers responded by scoring six points in under a minute to cut the Lion lead to 29-22. They were helped out by three Lion fouls sending HFU to the line where they hit 4-5.
• Georgian Court kept their foot on the gas, getting three-balls from Crawford and Taheen Braswell-Brown and going back up by 15, 39-24, with less than five minutes remaining in the half.
• In the closing seconds, Cam Edmonds drove the length of the floor, but his floater fell off the rim, only for Tesneem Ajeigbe to collect the offense rebound and score at the buzzer giving GCU a 49-31 lead at the half.
• Georgian Court put on a clinic in the first half. They finished with 11 assists on 17 made baskets and were 9-of-10 at the foul line. They also forced 13 Holy Family turnovers, while losing the ball just six times themselves. HFU averaged less than 12 turnovers per game entering the night.

2nd Half
• Holy Family came out red hot to start the half. They rattled off seven points in the first 2:08 and cut the lead down to 11, 49-38.
• Georgian Court ended the 7-0 Tiger run as Edmonds got to the line and sank a pair.
• The Lions extended the lead back out to 15, 53-38, but a Tiger three-pointer and a fastbreak layup after a GCU turnover made it a 10-point game, 53-43.
• Just as quickly as the lead dipped to 10, it was right back up to 15 as Crawford buried another three and Anthony Rivera turned a steal into points with a wide open layup, putting GCU up 58-43 as the Tigers called timeout.
• Out of the timeout, the Tigers hit a three and a Lion turnover led to another 5-0 run HFU run. Braswell-Brown ended that with a corner three though, keeping the Lions lead in double-figures, 61-48.
• Rivera tipped up-and-in Crawford's driving layup attempt and it was another 5-0 run. The third straight 5-0 run of the half.
• Holy Family kept battling and again made it a 10-point game with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation.
• They were never able to close to within single-digits though. Georgian Court was able to put the game away at the free throw line hitting 11-of-14 in the final three minutes.
