PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Feb. 22, 2025) - At the 4:06 mark of the second half,
Cam Edmonds gave Georgian Court a six-point lead, 55-49, with two at the free throw line. That was the last time Georgian Court scored as Jefferson finished the game scoring 13 straight and stealing a 62-55 win.
How it Happened
• Neither team shot the ball well, both right around 35% for the game.
• Georgian Court was 7-25 on three-pointers while Jefferson hit 6-18.
• The free throw line made a big difference. The Lions were called for 10 more fouls than the Rams and Jefferson was 22-31 at the line while GCU was just 12-16.
• Both teams turned the ball over plenty, GCU 19 times and Jefferson 18.
• Rebounding numbers were also close. Jefferson grabbed 37 and GCU 34. Georgian Court outscored the Rams 13-9 in second-chance points despite Jefferson grabbing three more offensive boards.
1st Half
• It was a low-scoring game from the start, but GCU was getting contributions from everyone.
• One game after
Cam Edmonds scored the first 12 points for GCU,
Taheen Braswell-Brown,
Anthony Gooden, and
Charles Anyichie all scored in the first 3:09 of the game.
• Neither team seemingly wanted to take control of the game in the first half.
• Georgian Court led 13-12 with 13 minutes left and held Jefferson scoreless for the next three.

Caleb Mims put GCU ahead six, 18-12, before it was the Lions turn to go scoreless. They didn't add to their total for 6:30 and a Jefferson three gave them their first lead, 19-18.
• Edmonds finished the half with a three-pointer both from distance and around the rim with an and-1.
• The Lions defense kept playing hard and held the Rams to just three points the final 6:49 as GCU retook the lead into the half, 25-22.
2nd Half
• Out of the break, Jefferson immediately tied things with a three-ball.
• Jefferson hit just six threes all game, but four came in the first 5:07 of the second half as they went up five, 36-31.

Donavin Crawford answered the final one with a three of his own and that sparked a 10-0 run for GCU who then took their own five-point lead, 41-36 on an Edmonds long ball.
• The lead stayed within two possessions the rest of the game as the teams were trading baskets.
• Another three from Crawford and two Edmonds free throws pushed the lead to six, 55-49 with 4:06 remaining.
• Jefferson's Justin Hawkins hit back-to-back buckets to get to within two, and following a missed three, a Ram three-pointer gave them the lead back, 56-55, with 1:48 to play.
• GCU couldn't connect missing consecutive three-pointers to take the lead. They went 0-5 in the final 3:30 with four turnovers as Jefferson went 6-6 at the line to put the game away.

• Justin Hawkins matched Edmonds with 22 going 6-13 overall, 9-12 at the line.
• Farouk Kaba was 3-4 from distance and scored 15.
• Ashton Miller was near a double-double with eight point and nine rebounds.
