LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 3, 2025) - This week's Kessler Athletes of the Week are Men's Track & Field thrower Mark Linton and Women's Basketball guard Maria Stanescu.
 
Kessler is the official physical therapy partner of Georgian Court Athletics. Their team of movement experts will be on campus to provide athletic training services to the student-athletes. ⁣With over 10 physical therapy centers in the surrounding community, students, faculty and staff can experience the power of physical therapy close to campus.
 
Linton posted a career day at the Marlin Invite at Virginia Wesleyan last Friday. The sophomore finished second overall in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 48-4.75, which ranks eighth all-time in Georgian Court history. He also placed second overall in weight throw with a personal-best 49-10.
 
Stanescu helped the Lions to a 1-1 week, posting 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting along with three steals against Jefferson on Tuesday. The freshman had a career day in Saturday's win at Bridgeport. She tallied 16 points along with four triples while dishing out a career-high three assists, six steals and tied a career-high with five rebounds.  
 
The men's track and field program is back in action on Friday at the Fastrack National Invitational at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island. Women's basketball hosts Wilmington on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
