BLOOMFIELD, NJ (Feb. 8, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball made some history Saturday afternoon in Bloomfield. For the first time in the history of the program, the Lions defeated the Bloomfield Bears, 91-85. Not only that, but Coach
Dave Fedor matched both the most overall and CACC wins for a first-year coach in program history*.
How it Happened
• Bloomfield shot 47.6% and 45% from three, both numbers besting the Lions who shot 41% and 38% from three.
• But Georgian Court hit four more triples and was 20-31 from the foul line.
• The Bears are one of the best rebounding teams in the country and it showed. They grabbed 50 to GCU's 34.
• Turnovers played a big role as Georgian Court was excellent with the ball, giving it away just five times. They also forced 17 turnovers and turned those in 25 points.
1st Half
• Bloomfield buried a three to start the game and never trailed until late in the second half.
• The teams were trading baskets for much of the first half and a three-ball from
Anthony Gooden tied the game at 24.
• From there though, Bloomfield went on a 10-2 run to pull ahead.
• In the final seconds of the half, Bloomfield was up a dozen when
Michael Duviella hit a three to bring the lead down to single-digits.
• Bloomfield got an offensive rebound and a foul call, hitting a free throw with one second left to take a 49-39 lead into the half.
2nd Half
• The Lions started the second half hot, but four minutes in, the Bloomfield lead was still nine.
• A three-point play from
Cam Edmonds and a long ball from
Donavin Crawford cut the lead down to three, 54-51.
•The Bears pushed it back up to eight, but the Lions continued to hang around.
• At the 8:47 mark, Edmonds hit a three and tied the game at 72.
• GCU was still unable to grab the lead though. Bloomfield scored three straight to get back out in front, 75-72 with eight minutes left.
• At the 4:19 mark, Georgian Court took their first lead of the game when who else but Edmonds splashed a three for a 79-78 lead.
• Down three, Bloomfield responded with a 7-0 run to take the lead back, 85-81, with 2:28.
• Crawford cut it in half with a layup and
Taheen Braswell-Brown gave GCU the lead for good with a three.
• Crawford hit another three for good measure and GCU came away with a 91-85 comeback win.

• The Lions 91 points are a new season-high.
• The five turnovers are their fewest in a game since committing just one vs. Felician in February, 2018.
