BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 12, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball wrapped up their spring break trip Wednesday with a single game against New Haven. The Lions got down early and couldn't recover in a 22-6 loss to the Chargers.
How it Happened
• New Haven scored 22 runs on 19 hits with six extra-base hits.
• The Lions totaled eight hits, all singles and scored six runs.
• GCU didn't commit an error in the field, but an unearned run scored on a pass ball. The Chargers made two and allowed one unearned run.
• After GCU stranded a runner in the first, New Haven set the tone scoring eight in the bottom of the inning. They had four RBI singles in the inning plus a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk.
• The Lions got half of those runs back and made it an 8-4 game through the top of the third.
Oliver Santana,
Frank Marra and
Alex Elliott all singled to score runs in the second.
• An error in the outfield allowed
Israel Garcia to score in the third.
• New Haven put up another crooked number in the bottom of the third inning. They scored six, all with two outs. Two runs runs scored on singles, plus two more on a double steal and a wild pitch. A two RBI double was the biggest hit of the inning as the Chargers took a 14-4 lead.
• The Chargers started playing long ball in the fourth with a two-run home run.
• GCU picked up two runs in teh sixth on
Oliver Santana's RBI single and
Frank Marra's RBI ground out.
• New Haven scored a run in the six and two in the seventh before a three-run home run put them over 20 runs for the game and brought the final to 22-6.

Jack Greenspan finished 2-5 with two runs scored.

Oliver Santana reached base three times with two singles and a walk. He scored twice and drove in a run.

Frank Marra singled and walked and picked up an RBI.
•
Joe Voli pitched two innings in relief allowing two runs, one earned, on one hit.
For the Chargers
• Cole Gibson got the win allowing four runs, three earned on five hits with two strikeouts.
• Joe Frazzetta finished 3-5 with a home run, four runs and four RBI.
• Kenneth Franquiz entered as a defensive replacement and went 2-2 with a home run and three RBI.
• Matt McIntire doubled as a part of a 4-5 day and scored three times.

• This was the first game all season GCU did not commit a fielding error.
• In three games in Florida, GCU scored 24 runs.Â
• Georgian Court pitchers struck out seven which matches a season-high.Â
