CHICHESTER, Pa. (March 26, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball was back on the field for another CACC doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. They played at Holy Family, a team that started their program in 2024. The Lions were swept by the Tigers dropping game one 9-4 and game two, 10-2.
Game 1 - Holy Family 9, Georgian Court 4
How it Happened
• Holy Family scored nine runs on 10 hits while GCU scored four on seven.
• All four GCU runs came in the seventh inning.
• The Lions made two errors which led to a pair of unearned runs. The Lion Tiger error allowed all four GCU runs to score.
• Lion pitchers walked seven and struck out four. GCU made contact at the plate striking out just three times and walking three times. GCU was also hit by four pitches.
• Stolen bases were a problem for the Lions as Holy Family stole nine and were caught once.
• Holy Family scored single runs in the second, third and fifth innings. A throwing error in the second allowed the first run to score and a fielding error in the third brought in the Tigers' second run.
• A double steal in the fifth made it 3-0 before HFU broke it open with a four-run sixth.
• A two-run triple was the first run-scoring hit of the game. That was followed by an RBI single and a run crossing on a passed ball.
• RBI singles from
Alex Elliott and
Sammy Cruz in the seventh brought in three runs. They also scored on an interference call.
• Holy Family added two more in the eighth on a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk for a 9-4 final.

Ryan Bilello started on the bump for GCU and went 5.1 innings allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits with two strikeouts.

Sammy Cruz was 2-4 with two RBI.

For the Tigers
• Brian Comer had two hits in four at bats and scored three runs.
• Marc Garcia doubled, tripled, stole three bases, scored and drove in a run.
• Jalen David reached base three times with two singles and a walk. He also scored twice.
• Jephson Hadson-Taylor singled twice and stole two bases.
• Brian Williams went the first 6.2 innings allowing four runs, all unearned on five hits.
Game 2 - Holy Family 10, Georgian Court 2
How it Happened
• Holy Family showed off their extra-base hit power with three doubles and a home run among 11 hits to score 10 runs.
• GCU had five hits and scored twice.
• The Lion defense was charged with four errors, leading to three unearned runs.
• Georgian Court had a 1-0 lead in the second. They loaded the bases with one out and scored on
Oliver Santana's fielder's choice.
• With the bags still full,
Larry Rodriguez, sent a drive to left, but right at the left fielder to end the inning.
• A wild play on a but in the bottom of the second inning tied the game as a GCU error allowed the tying run to score. HFU grabbed the lead with a two-out RBI single.
• Two hit-by-pitches with the bases loaded allowed two more HFU runs to score in the fourth, putting the Tigers up 4-1.
• Holy Family broke it open in the fifth with a three-run home run to right.
• That was part of a six-run inning, as two more RBI singles brought the lead to 10-1.

• Marc Garcia had a 1-3 game and drove in a pair.
